The Desert Botanical Garden at the Chiricahua Desert Museum is located between the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts and is free for all visitors to enjoy. Here, you will find a sanctuary filled with native plants and animals, including a diverse array of cactus, yucca, agave, as well as native grasses and trees. Because of its unique geographic location, the Garden area is also home to many lizard and bird species, as well as Sonora desert tortoises, desert box turtles, yellow and Sonora mud turtles, chuckwallas, crevice spiny lizards, Bolson's tortoises, leopard lizards, collared lizards, and numerous native insects. While the best time for viewing wildlife is between April 15th and October 15th,  animals may be seen almost year-round.   

 

Sit and relax along the creek or pond, and enjoy the inspiring surroundings.  Make a cup of Keurig coffee in the gift shop,  wander the Garden at your leisure with the spectacular Chiricahua Mountains as your backdrop, and enjoy all that the desert has to offer.
